Sunday July 1st I had to work at sumo. I just got this weird feeling as I was driving to work that something was going to happen. I always kinda had a feeling that he would come early but I just thought it may have been coming from my eagerness to meet the babe.
After work I went straight to bed. I got up um like 5 times in the night to pee. I got up while Ster was getting ready for work to pee again. I noticed that my underwear was wet and it was NOT pee. I kinda freak out and told Ster that I thought that my water had broken. He got all excited and finshed gettting ready.
I read that you should lay down for 20 mins and see what happens when you get up. That's exactly what I did. I got up and 2 seconds later a flood came gushing out! I was standing in a puddle of water!! Crazy! We than knew for sure that my water indeed broke. We called the doctor and she told us to come in ASAP. We packed our bags and headed to Kneaders for some labor pushing breakfast sandwiches.
Once we arrived at the hospital, the nurse checked me and I was 2 centimeters dilated and 60% effaced. That meant it was time for pitocin since I was not progressing and it had been 3 hours since my water broke. I was on pitocin for about an hour when my doctor came in to check on me. She checked me and wasn't sure if it was the head or the babies bum that she felt. She did an ultra sound and than looked at me with a disappointing face. Baby boy was breach. I instantly started to cry. I had no choice but to have a c-section. There was no way to even try to move him since there was no more fluid for him to move in.
They explained to me what was going to happen and how long it would take. About 30 mins later I was walking into the OR. I only had 30 mins to come to terms that I was having a c-section. It freaked me out! Once I got into the OR I couldn't stop crying! It was such a cold scary room with lots of instruments and machines. Luckily Sterling was able to be in the room the entire time since he works in the OR. What a blessing that was! I'm not sure how I would have been able to get through it with out him. He got to be the one holding me up while the anesthesiologist gave me the spinal block. Normally it would have been the nurse holding me. He helped calm me down so much!
I felt the medicine instantly. It felt so weird not to feel anything below my chest. I did not like it!! Then people where doing things to my left and right. It was crazy. I couldn't feel a thing as they positioned me on the OR table and put a catheter in. After that I just felt pressure. Ten minutes into the operation Sterling Kyson Ercanbrack was BORN! He came out screaming! It was so good to hear him cry! The doctors really had to pull hard to get the little guy out. His little bum was so low! He was born on Monday July 2nd at 12:17 pm. He weighed 7lbs 3 oz and was 19 inches long. Big guy for being 3 1/2 weeks early!
They checked him out and he was perfect. Sterling got to hold him a few mintues later. Its was such a surreal moment. He was holding our little man and I was laying on a table getting my insides stiched up! It took them like 30 mins to finish me up and then I got to hold my sweet baby.
When I got back to my room, the first thing they had me do was feed the little guy. He did so good and has been doing good ever since. What a blessing that has been. I wanted to breast feed so bad and I was worried it wouldn't work out in some way.
We got to leave the hospital on the 4th. I was kind of sad to leave for 3 reasons.....the nurse taking the babe at night....the snack fridge (best chocolate milk ever...I may have drank like 5 a day!) and the food which you just order when ever you want. Park City Medical actually has amazing food. I got a yummy fruit plate at every meal! We got the best care and I would love to have all my babies there! Plus we got extra TLC since Ster is an employee.
I'm so happy! We love our little Kyson so much! I cant imagine our life now without him. I can't get enough of him. I love holding him. Ster and I laughed the other day because we both agreed that it is fun to change his diaper! I'm sure this will change soon but its so fun now!
He's such a good baby and he brings such a sweet spirit into our home! We love you Kyson!!

Love your story and kyson is perfect. Also I didn't know you were living in Utah. We have Bren to park city lots since April and could have come to see you! We will need to get together
First of all Kyson is the cutest thing ever! He is adorable Michelle. I love all of your pictures. :) I had a c-section with Mark and it was seriously the scariest moment of my life. So know exactly how you felt. It's so emotional! Especially when you aren't planning to have one and then when you do find out you need one, it seems to happen all so fast! But it is still a miracle and all that matters is that you guys are healthy. :) I love you tons and hope motherhood is going well. :)
He is perfect! Such a little sweetie, I am sure you two are having SO much fun! I am sorry you had to experience a c-section for your very first delivery, but sounds like everything went great and baby got here safe which is always the most important :) luv you Michelle and I sure hope to meet your little man someday!
Congratulations you guys! He is so handsome and sweet!
ohhhhhh. you make me want to have a baby RIGHT NOW! Skip the whole nine months ;). haha. it's 1:15 am and i couldn't help but read this before I go to bed. my two fav pictures of the one of you holding him in the hospital bed (the one on fb that i commented on), and the one of Kyson trying so hard to open those little eyes so that you could look at sterling. I love that one. I love you guys and miss you, but am happy and can't wait to meet the little guy and hang out with your new family :)!
